Why Rent With Us, Not Cheap Street Rental in Bali

You can rent a scooter in Bali for 50,000 IDR a day from a stall on the street. We charge three times that, and this page explains exactly what the difference buys — so you can decide whether it is worth it for your trip.

The honest comparison

Street rental in Bali works like this: a bike with no service history, no contract, no insurance, and a phone number that may or may not answer. For a two-day trip around Canggu on a 110cc scooter, that is often fine, and we will not pretend otherwise.

It stops being fine when the trip is longer, the bike is bigger, or something goes wrong.

Where the money actually goes

Servicing after every rental, not on a schedule. This is the single biggest cost difference and the least visible one. A bike that has been ridden hard for three weeks by someone else comes back to us, gets inspected, and does not go out again until it passes. That is what catches the worn brake pads, the stretched chain and the tyre with 1mm left — the three things that hurt tourists in Bali.

Tyres from proper brands. Bali's roads are wet for half the year and the corners are covered in sand and diesel. Cheap tyres are where street rentals save money, and where riders lose the front end.

A real phone number at the other end. Roadside assistance runs 24 hours. If the bike dies in Sidemen at nine at night, we come out or send another bike. That is a cost we carry so it is not a night you remember for the wrong reason.

An official contract. It sets out the terms in writing before you take the bike, so there is no argument at the end about a scratch that was already there. It also means the insurance is valid — cover without a contract is not cover.

When we are honestly not the right choice

What our customers actually say

375 reviews on Google with an average of 4.9 out of 5. The two things that come up most often are the condition of the bikes and the fact that someone answers when you call — which is exactly what this page is about.

Common questions

Why is your rental more expensive than street rental in Bali?

Because every bike is serviced and checked after each rental, runs proper tyres, comes with an official contract and optional insurance, and is backed by 24/7 roadside assistance. Street rentals do none of that, which is how they reach 50,000 IDR a day.

Is cheap scooter rental in Bali safe?

Sometimes. The risk is not the price — it is the unknown service history, the tyres and the absence of insurance. On a short, slow trip that risk is small; over weeks of daily riding it is not.

Do you hold my passport as a deposit?

No. Terms including any deposit are written into the rental contract and agreed before the bike is handed over.

What happens if I damage the bike?

With the insurance add-on, damage to the bike, third-party liability and medical expenses are covered. Without it, repairs are charged at cost. Cover is only valid if you were riding with a licence valid for that motorcycle.

How many motorcycles do you have?

131 models, from 150,000 IDR automatic scooters to 1000cc sport bikes, plus cars and seven guided tours.

Still deciding? Tell us the dates and what you want to do with the bike on WhatsApp and we will tell you honestly which model fits — including when a cheaper one will do. See the fleet in the catalogue, the terms on the insurance page, and who we are on the team page.
