Motorbike Rental in Ubud — Scooters and Bikes for the Hills
Free delivery to Ubud. Scooters from 150,000 IDR per day, motorcycles from 175,000 IDR per day, helmet and phone holder included, official contract with every rental. Message us on WhatsApp — daily 09:00–20:00.
Ubud is a different kind of riding
Coastal Bali is flat and straight. Ubud is not: the roads climb, twist and drop into river valleys, the surface changes without warning, and a wet afternoon turns a steep lane slick in minutes. It is some of the best riding on the island and it asks a little more of both rider and bike.
The practical consequence is simple — brakes and torque matter more here than in Canggu. A tired scooter that copes fine on the beach road will struggle on the climbs towards Tegallalang or Kintamani. Everything in our fleet is serviced and checked after each rental, which is exactly why it matters on these roads.
Prices and what suits Ubud
- Automatic scooters — from 150,000 IDR per day. Honda PCX and ADV, Yamaha NMAX and XMAX. The ADV and XMAX have the bigger wheels and better suspension, which is the difference you feel on broken surfaces around Ubud.
- 150–250cc motorcycles — from 175,000 IDR per day. The sweet spot for the hills: enough engine for the climbs, light enough for narrow lanes.
- Tour-enduro and adventure bikes — from 200,000 IDR per day. Honda CB 150X, Kawasaki KLX, Versys and similar. Long suspension travel, upright seating, happiest on the rough stuff.
- 400–1000cc — from 650,000 IDR per day for riders with real experience.
Weekly and monthly rates are lower — the full price list is on each model page. Browse the motorcycle catalogue or the tour-enduro models.
Delivery to Ubud
We deliver and pick up free of charge within 20 km of our office, and Ubud is part of the area we cover — send your villa or hotel address on WhatsApp and we agree a time. We bring the bike, hand over the helmet and phone holder, sign the contract on the spot and collect it the same way when you are done. Delivery to Denpasar airport is possible too, at around 150,000–200,000 IDR because of the waiting time.
What is included
- Helmet and phone holder
- Free delivery and pickup within the 20 km zone
- Service check after every rental period
- 24/7 roadside assistance with on-the-spot repair or a replacement bike
- Official rental contract
Insurance is a paid add-on rather than part of the base price. It covers damage to the bike, third-party liability and medical expenses, and on Ubud's roads it is worth having.
Documents
An International Driving Permit with a motorcycle category, your home licence and your passport, carried with you while riding. Checks happen on the main roads into and out of Ubud, and without an IDP any insurance claim will be refused.
Rides that start in Ubud
- Tegallalang and the northern rice terraces — twenty minutes up the hill, quiet before nine in the morning.
- Jatiluwih — about an hour and a half west through the UNESCO terraces, one of the finest roads on the island. We also run it as a guided full-day tour.
- Mount Batur and Kintamani — an hour and a half north and around a thousand metres up. Bring a jacket; it is genuinely cold at the crater rim at sunrise.
- Sidemen and the east — two hours out, far emptier roads than anything near the coast, with Agung in the background the whole way.
If you would rather not navigate, our private tours run with one guide for your group and no strangers joining.
Practical notes
Ubud's centre is congested and one-way in places, so give yourself extra time and use the bypass to get in and out. Fuel stations are on the main roads; the small lanes have none. Afternoon rain in the wet season is heavy and sudden — a poncho under the seat costs nothing and saves the day. And after dark the mountain roads have no lighting at all, so plan to be back before sunset unless you know the route.
Common questions
Do you deliver to Ubud?
Yes. Send your address on WhatsApp and we bring the bike to you.
Is a scooter enough for the Ubud hills?
For the town and the nearby terraces, yes. For Kintamani, Batur or a full day in the mountains, a 150–250cc motorcycle or a large-wheel scooter like the ADV or XMAX is a noticeably better ride.
Can I rent for a month?
Yes, and it is much cheaper per day. Scooters run from 2,000,000 IDR per month and motorcycles from 3,000,000 IDR per month.
What if something goes wrong on a mountain road?
Call us. Roadside assistance is 24/7 — we repair the bike where it is or bring a replacement at no extra cost.
Do I need an international driving permit?
Yes — an IDP with a motorcycle category, plus your passport. More detail on the FAQ page.
